LIZ BONHAM WORKSHOP SUPPLY LIST

 

These are the oil colors Liz uses in a primary palette and you will need:

  • Titanium Zinc or Permelba White
  • Lemon Yellow                      
  • Cadmium or Permanent Red Light
  • Cadmium Yellow Light        
  • Alizarin
  • Yellow Ochre                        
  • Ultramarine Blue            
  • Transparent Red Oxide

If you would like to add the next set of colors, feel free to add these convenience colors to your palette, but they are not required:

  • Cadmium Orange                  
  • Indian Yellow                  
  • Viridian
  • Cerulean Blue

You are welcome to bring any of your favorite colors. Please stay away from store brands as they have more filler than pigment.  Liz recommends Rembrandt, Winsor Newton (not Winton), Vasari, Grumbacher, Holbien, and Michael Harding.

  • Palette:  Liz uses a 10x20 picture frame with ¼” plate glass.  The under side is painted with a middle gray acrylic. Please bring whatever you are comfortable with.
  • Brushes:  #2, #4, #6, #10 filbert or long flat natural bristles or Rosemary Ivorys.
    • 1 or 2 soft brushes (synthetic, sable, etc.) small diamond palette knife.
    • Drawing:  Please bring a pencil, sketch paper             
    • Canvas:  3-5x7 panels, + 1- 11x14 or 12x16ish size canvas or panel  Drop Cloth:  4x4 for floors
    • Medium/Cleaner:  Odorless Turpenoid, linseed oil  
    • Easel:  Portable easel, 1 small
    • Containers:  1 small, 1 medium-large
    • Clean up:  Viva paper towels or shop towels. Xacto glass scraper if using glass palette.
