September 14, 2025: Brass Without Borders, Lone Star Brass
A lively and virtuosic performance by West Texas Symphony’s resident brass quintet, featuring a dynamic blend of music for all ages.

Formed in 1981, the Lone Star Brass is the resident brass quintet of the West Texas Symphony. The Lone Star Brass presents concerts that display the consummate technical skill of each performer and the expertise involved in working together as an ensemble. The group has recorded two albums, “Lone Star Christmas,” and “Western Fanfare.” They performed in Carnegie Hall with the symphony chorale and have toured the country performing shows for all ages. From New York to New Mexico, this seasoned ensemble offers programs of classical music, jazz, original works, and even opera. They perform to have fun, and it rubs off on their audiences at every concert.

Adelante Winds, a dynamic multicultural chamber ensemble based in Central Texas focuses on educating and exposing audiences to a diverse range of composers and styles. Adelante, which means forward, is the ensemble’s mantra in exploring new sounds and imaginative ideas for the woodwind quintet. The ensemble aspires to challenge itself and its audience to approach music in innovative ways.

Resident piano trio at Angelo State University, Trio Aurora brings together three dynamic performers and educators: violinist Dr. Fagner Magrinelli Rocha, cellist Dr. Daria Miskiewicz, and pianist Dr. Eun Mi Lee. Known for their expressive interpretations and engaging stage presence, the trio performs a wide range of repertoire from beloved classical masterpieces to contemporary works. This program features Beethoven’s passionate Piano Trio in C Minor, Op. 1, No. 3 alongside Paul Schoenfield’s lively and genre-blending Café Music—a virtuosic mix of classical, jazz, and Broadway styles.

The mission of Tango Llaneros is to not only provide high quality live tango music but to educate the community on the traditions and history of Argentine Tango Music. With our passion for education we provide presentation concerts and seminars to high school and collegiate level students. Outside of the classroom, we provide various performances for music festivals and chamber series. We believe that to make a better tango music scene in the United States we must start with educational programs in schools so that students can learn what tango music is and what is capable through it.

Award-winning violinist Fiona Shea brings an impressive list of accolades to the stage, including Grand Prize in the 2025 Young Texas Artist Competition, third prize in the 2024 Ann & Charles Eisemann International Young Artists Competition, and the 2022 Dorothy DeLay Fellowship at the Aspen Music Festival. She is joined by pianist Tingting Yao, a rising star praised for her refined artistry and expressive touch. With extensive international experience and a growing reputation as a sought-after chamber musician, Yao brings depth and elegance to every performance.

An inspiring showcase of the musical talent and camaraderie within Angelo State University’s music faculty.
Description: Experience an afternoon of remarkable chamber music as the Angelo State University music faculty presents a dynamic recital. The program features an exciting mix of classical and contemporary works.
All concerts are from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Museum exhibits are open from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sundays.
