SAMFA is happy to Introduce Art Thursday...TO-GO! Safely drive through the museum’s parking lot and pick up Art Thursday Packets To-Go. Two, printable activities and additional supplies will be included for FREE each Thursday* this summer from 3 – 6 pm, or until supplies run out. SAMFA staff will safely and hygienically hand packets to you from the safety of your car window. SAMFA Staff will also be wearing masks and gloves at all times, as well as follow social distancing guidelines in order to optimize the safety of Participants and Museum Staff.

*There will be no Art Thursday To- Go on July 2nd."

From 1 pm until 6 pm on Thursday April 22nd, Randy Brodnax will lead participants in a workshop of raku and alternative firing techniques and throwing thin on the wheel. Participants will build and fire the kilns. Work will continue on Friday, and Saturday will be a kiln opening. Participants are encouraged to bring bisque work to glaze and fire.

The Invited Artists, Ariel Bowman, Brooks Oliver, and Gregory Tegarden, will conduct a day-long (9 am to 3 pm) demonstration workshop, discussing and demonstrating their techniques, materials, and process. Taking place at the Old Chicken Farm Art Center, 2505 Martin Luther King Boulevard

Lunch on Saturday is up to you, so plan to bring a sack lunch or patronize one of many local restaurants.
