The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts will host a Jazz Happy Hour on Friday, May 16 at 6:00 PM in the Grand Hall located at 1 Love Street featuring the West Texas Jazz Orchestra.
The West Texas Jazz Orchestra was founded in 2003 by leader/drummer James Bode. A sixteen piece big band (5 saxes, 4 trombones, 4 trumpets, bass, piano and drums), Bode hand picked the strongest jazz musicians in West Texas, and has focused on playing the actual arrangements that the great bands such as Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey and Count Basie performed on stage.
Tickets are available on Eventbrite. $10 general admission, $5 seniors, and admission is free for children under 18, students, and military. Light refreshments available.
The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
The museum’s concert series is generously sponsored by Jake Martin.
