Family Day: Bloom From the Breaks

  • SAMFA Grand Hall 1 Love Street San Angelo, TX, 76903 United States (map)

The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts invites families to attend Family Day on Saturday, May 15, 2026, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Education Studio, located in the breezeway at 1 Love Street in downtown San Angelo.

This month's Family Day theme is Bloom From the Breaks! Families will explore growth, healing, and beauty after difficult seasons. Activities include seed paper making, cracked-pot mosaics with flowers, community growth murals or “things that help us grow” reflection tree, botanical watercolor, and pressed flower art with repaired frames. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the Concho Clay Studio throughout the event for free drop-in clay activities. No registration is required.

In addition to art activities, guests can browse a free children's book giveaway in SAMFA's Grand Hall. The books are generously provided by the San Angelo Adult Literacy Council and anonymous donors.

Family Day is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available while supplies last. Activities are subject to change, and additional surprise activities may be offered throughout the day.

The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. The museum is supported by generous contributions from both individuals and businesses. This project is made possible in part by the Sterling-Turner Foundation, the Mary Ellen Kent Bunyard Foundation, HEB, and Texas Commission on the Arts.
