New Voices in Art

The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts is proud to present the Youth Art Showcase: New Voices in Art, a special exhibition celebrating the creativity and talent of young artists throughout our community.

Designed for artists ages 9–17, this showcase offers participants the unique opportunity to experience what it's like to exhibit artwork in a professional museum gallery. Whether you're an experienced young artist or exhibiting for the very first time, this event is an exciting chance to share your work with family, friends, collectors, and the community.

Age Categories

Kids Showcase

  • Ages 9–12

Teen Showcase

  • Ages 13–17

The Kids and Teen showcases will be displayed separately while taking place during the same event.

Registration

  • Registration Fee: $15 per artist

  • Maximum of 2 original artworks per participant

  • All visual art mediums are welcome, including painting, drawing, mixed media, ceramics, printmaking, sculpture, photography, and more.

  • Artwork must be original and ready for display.

Sell Your Artwork (Optional)

Artists may choose to:

  • Display their artwork only

  • Display and offer artwork for sale

For artists choosing to sell:

  • You set your own starting price.

  • Artwork will be available through a silent auction-style bidding process.

  • You may also choose to include a "Buy It Now" price for immediate purchase.

  • Museum staff will facilitate sales, and payment information will be provided to parents or guardians after the event.

Participation in sales is completely optional.

The Youth Art Showcase gives young artists the opportunity to:

  • Exhibit artwork in a professional museum gallery

  • Build confidence by sharing their work with the public

  • Learn about the process of selling original artwork

  • Celebrate creativity alongside other young artists

  • Create lasting memories with family and friends

Before You Register

  • Artwork must be original.

  • Each artist may submit up to two pieces.

  • Artwork should be completed before the registration deadline.

  • Artwork must be suitable for museum display.

  • The museum reserves the right to decline work that cannot be safely displayed.

Schedule

Registration Opens: July 15, 2026

Registration Deadline: July 30, 2026

Artwork Drop-Off: August 3–5, 2026

Event Times: August 6 at 3–5 PM & August 7 at 4–7 PM

Ages 9–12:
Gallery Verde, 417 S. Oakes St.

Ages 13–17:
Coop Gallery, 427 S. Oakes St.
