Legendary Songwriting Workshop with Carol Elliott

  • San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts 1 Love Street San Angelo, TX, 76903 United States (map)

Beginning at 1:30 PM on Sunday, July 19, in the SAMFA Grand Hall, the Legendary Songwriter Series program will feature SAMFA Executive Director Seth Hopkins interviewing acclaimed songwriter Carol Elliott about her early career working around Nashville legends, her songwriting process, and the inspiration behind some of her favorite songs. Live performances will be interspersed throughout the conversation, giving audiences an opportunity to hear the stories behind the music.

Following the interview, from 3:30–5:00 PM, Elliott will lead an interactive Songwriting Workshop. Participants of all experience levels are encouraged to bring their best song ideas and learn from one of Texas's most accomplished songwriters. The workshop will offer practical guidance, creative exercises, and insight into the craft of writing original songs.

Elliott currently serves as a Music Ambassador for the Texas Commission on the Arts, traveling the state to promote songwriting, music education, and the rich tradition of Texas music.

Presented in collaboration with the Texas Commission on the Arts.
