Family Day: Roots in the Land

  • SAMFA Grand Hall 1 Love Street San Angelo, TX, 76903 United States (map)

The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts invites families to attend Family Day on Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Education Studio, located in the breezeway at 1 Love Street in downtown San Angelo.

This month's Family Day theme is Roots in the Land! Families will investigate how people shape, and are shaped by, the land. Enjoy printmaking with natural textures, branding-inspired design, maps, fibers, cowboy culture, ecology, and land stewardship activities. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the Concho Clay Studio throughout the event for free drop-in clay activities. No registration is required.

In addition to art activities, guests can browse a free children's book giveaway in SAMFA's Grand Hall. The books are generously provided by the San Angelo Adult Literacy Council and anonymous donors.

Family Day is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available while supplies last. Activities are subject to change, and additional surprise activities may be offered throughout the day.

The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. The museum is supported by generous contributions from both individuals and businesses. This project is made possible in part by the Sterling-Turner Foundation, the Mary Ellen Kent Bunyard Foundation, HEB, and Texas Commission on the Arts.
