The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts strives to engage and inspire by providing meaningful exhibitions and educational programs that connect artists, ideas, and audiences in a welcoming environment for all.
SAMFA is an artistic and cultural hub for the Concho Valley, connecting people with art, artists, and creative experiences. Located along of the Concho River in downtown San Angelo, the museum serves as a welcoming space where the community can explore visual art, discover new ideas, and engage with creative expression.
The museum is also home to several signature programs that bring artists and audiences together in meaningful ways. These include En Plein Air Texas and the San Angelo National Ceramic Competition.
The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts’ Education Studio hosts weekly Art Thursdays and monthly Family Days, all free and open to the public, to create spaces for kids and adults alike to engage with art! SAMFA is also home to the Concho Clay Studio, a working ceramics studio that offers classes, workshops, and artist opportunities in clay.
With free admission and a commitment to accessibility, the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts strives to make sure that art is for everyone!

Concho Clay Studio
The Concho Clay Studio is a fully equipped ceramics studio operated by the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, offering pottery and clay sculpture classes for adults in San Angelo. Designed as a creative and supportive learning environment, the studio provides hands-on instruction for beginners and experienced artists alike. The mission of Concho Clay Studio is to share the joy of the ceramic process while building community through clay.
Education at SAMFA
SAMFA’s education program builds meaningful connections between the museum and the community—both locally and globally—through engaging gallery programs, hands-on studio experiences,
and accessible digital resources. These educational opportunities invite learners of all ages to imagine, think critically, discuss ideas, and create through art.
The goal of SAMFA’s museum education program is to inspire lifelong learners who recognize art as a cornerstone of a vibrant, inclusive, and joyful community.
Chamber Music Series
Curated by Dr. Fagner Magrinelli Rocha, the Chamber Music Series showcases a bold artistic vision rooted in musical excellence and cultural depth.
Performances take place in the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts’ Grand Hall, an intimate concert venue known for its exceptional acoustics and inviting atmosphere. As a cultural cornerstone in San Angelo, this chamber music concert series offers live music experiences for audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
