San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts

Tours at SAMFA

There is nothing like seeing real art in real life! SAMFA offers a variety of tour options for students in San Angelo and beyond.
Students, teachers, and chaperones are admitted free to the Museum during school tours.

Below are our tour options based on group size. We welcome all grade levels.

For Groups of 50-75 Students: We offer a 3 part tour with groups split into 3 rotations including a gallery tour of current exhibitions, an art activity in the Education Studio, and a science related program at the UCRA's Water Education Center. Each rotation lasts 45 minutes. Please allow 2 hours and 15 minutes for your visit. Due to limited space in our galleries, we are not able to accommodate groups larger than 50 for a shorter amount of time.

For Groups of 50 - 25 Students: We offer a 3 part tour option (see above), or a two part rotation including a tour of current exhibitions and a related art activity in the Education Studio. Each rotation for the 2 part tour is 45 minutes. Please allow 90 minutes for your visit.

For Groups of 25 Students or Less: We offer both the 3 and 2 part options for groups of 25 or less. You may also schedule a 45 minute gallery tour of current exhibitions.

For Groups exceeding 75 Students: Due to the limited space in our galleries and the delicate nature of many of the objects on display, we cannot provide a safe nor meaningful experience for students in rotations exceeding 25 students. Groups exceeding 75 students, or groups of 50 - 75 with limited time constraints are welcome to enjoy a self-guided architectural tour of the the Museum's exterior as well as the nearby river walk. It is a wonderful place to eat lunch and explore the scenery!

All tour reservations must be received 2 weeks before your requested date.

You may fax (325-658-6800), mail (Attn: Education, 1 Love Street, San Angelo, Texas 76903) or submit the form online via e-mail by clicking the submit button at the bottom of the document.
