Margaret Drake, Texas Sculpture Group

From Glen Rose, Texas

Artist Statement:

I work in the mediums of both water- and oil-based clays. When choosing subject matter, I look for topics where I can express symmetry, balance, rhythm, and motion, as well as beauty. My subject matter comes from my own imagination. I have always been an animal lover, and I have always been fascinated with the grace, beauty, and strength of true athletes. Also, I have an interest in Native American Culture, and have many sculptures representing Indian dances and their life in an earlier era.
