The Museum encourages attendees to car pool, ride a bike and use our new bike racks, or get some exercise and walk.
10 AM Flag Ceremony in Canoes on the Concho River by
the Girl Scouts.
10:30 AM-1:30 PM Childrens Fishing Fiesta for
kids 16 and under. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is stocking the
river with fish especially for this event. Children should bring their own
fishing poles, if they have them. If not, one will be provided. Prizes will
be awarded.
TBA Free tree giveaway. The City of San Angelo will give
away a total of 50 trees in 5-gallon containers.
Childrens activities. Numerous make-and-take art activities will
be available. Several green activities provided by Boy
Scouts and Girl Scouts- involve the use of recyclable items, biodegradable
materials, or organic mediums. In the Education Studio the activities are
based on the Native American cultural theme including beading, feathered headdresses,
tomahawks, and more! Other activities are Museum classics like pumpkin painting,
clay on the wheel" by Joe Morgan and Central High School Students,
face painting, and chalk art. Check out Cynthia Jordan's Native American Activity
Booth near the tee pee which will have music based programs throughout the
day.
Coop Gallery Exhibit, Trash to Treasure. Ft. Concho Elementary School
and Santa Rita Elementary School
Exhibit booths. Enjoy a wide range of exhibitors, showing art as well
as products and services related to ecology.
Live entertainment. Throughout the day, fairgoers can enjoy a variety
of music and entertainment.
Museum admission will be free.
