Nagas Installation will be exhibited on the Museums rooftop terrace. This sculptural installation is the work of Gloria Kisch, a New York based artist. Her superbly crafted and highly spirited sculptures are gracefully welded stainless steel works that emerge from large metal rods as linear abstract sculptures. Her minimalist works are animated and organic in form, suggesting animal and plant life. The artist is inspired by travel to remote destinations --- Africa, Oceania, the remote mountains of Mexico, and the forests of Brazil, Thailand, India, Japan and Mongolia -- to be in touch with exotic cultures by seeking the chords of spirituality that are common to mankind and the animal world.
The exhibits will remain on display through August 31, 2008.
