Talk by John Berry5:30 p.m. at the Art Museum
Author of the book, Herman Miller: The Purpose of Design
Basis for the exhibit, Good Design: Stories from Herman Miller which is currently on exhibit at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts

Mr. Berry will give a power point presentation about the Herman Miller design firm and its designers.  He will also show a 5 minute film entitled, “Design Q & A” about designers Charles & Ray Eames and answer questions.  The presentation should last between 45 minutes – 1 hour.  The galleries will be open for viewing and Mr. Berry will also be on hand to autograph copies of his book which is available for purchase in the museum gift shop.

ALL ABOUT TEXAS. This series of exhibits explores the Texas landscape and includes the work of 4 artists. Mary Baxter: The Park and Some Ranches – A rancher and artist who lives and works in the Big Bend region. Walt Davis: Exploring the Edges of Texas – Past director of the Panhandle-PlainsMuseum and former curator of exhibits at the Dallas Museum of Natural History, he and his wife Isabel traveled round the circumference of Texas and wrote a book about the journey. Josephine Oliver (1909-1991): Earth & Sky – Associate, friend and protégé of Frank Reaugh, the “Dean of Texas painters,” she traveled on many of his sketching trips to remote and sparsely inhabited regions of West Texas. Bob Stuth-Wade: Painting Texas – Among the national’s leading landscape painters, much of his work is a reflection of the landscape of Texas.
